He found a developer and the first Informer offline accounting solution was born. An early step, but a step big enough to help thousands of entrepreneurs in the Netherlands gain greater confidence in their bookkeeping.

The new multi-user functionality allows several users to work in the same administration at the same time, making collaboration between entrepreneurs, employees and accountants easier and more efficient.
After building a strong reputation over the past 11 years, Informer is officially recognized and endorsed by the Dutch Tax Authorities as a legitimate and reliable tool for submitting tax returns. This milestone marks an important step in Informer’s growth and confirms the trust placed in the platform by both authorities and entrepreneurs.

Peter offered free marketing classes. This joint initiative laid the groundwork for the purpose-driven approach that remains central to Informer Group’s DNA today.

This development marked the beginning of a renewed mission: providing all PBO organizations (ANBIs) in the Netherlands with free bookkeeping software, enabling them to dedicate more time and resources to achieving their goals.
Receiving this important certification for online financial software in the Netherlands requires undergoing a series of rigorous audits and assessments, verifying the platform’s security, stability and reliability. The certification confirmed Informer’s commitment to providing entrepreneurs with a safe and dependable accounting environment.
An example of how thought leadership and daring innovation can be extremely rewarding. Collaborating with bunq bank, Informer developed the first real-time integration between bank and bookkeeping software, providing users with constantly updated financial insights.
Highly regarded in the Dutch accounting industry, research institute GBNED selected Informer as one of the bookkeeping platforms robust enough to receive the Betrouwbaar Boekhouden (Reliable Accounting) quality mark.

Achieving this certification required Informer to meet rigorous German standards for security, transparency and data protection, marking an important milestone in the company’s international growth.
As the market adapted to online accounting, there was only one piece missing: automated online VAT returns.
This innovation led to less erroneous VAT declarations and more importantly, confidence within business owners. The most feared task of self-bookkeeping had been transformed into an automated job.
By enabling access to the Peppol network, Informer makes it easier for businesses to exchange secure electronic invoices while preparing for growing e-invoicing requirements across Europe.
The award was presented during the annual GBNED event, where Informer was recognized ahead of well-known Dutch accounting platforms such as Exact and Yuki.
Following success in The Netherlands, Informer started expanding throughout Europe. From Austria, to Germany and Belgium.
The mission remains the same. All business owners should be able to take control over their finances in an accessible way. And of course, PBOs in these countries are also provided with free software upon request.
Running a business is never easy. COVID-19 complicated the lives of small business owners even further. That’s why Informer developed a free bookkeeping course in Dutch: Boekhouden voor Beginners (Bookkeeping for Dummies).
The course provided freelancers with more stability and confidence. Something they desperately needed in times of financial uncertainty.
Following an extensive assessment process covering five key areas (governance, workers, community, environment and customers) Informer successfully surpassed the 80-point threshold in the B Impact Assessment (97.3 points), mainly due to its commitment of providing PBOs in The Netherlands with free bookkeeping software. This milestone reflects our strong commitment to creating a positive impact through responsible business practices.
With the introduction of passkeys, Informer pioneered a new standard of account security. This passwordless login method reduces the risk of phishing and stolen credentials while making access to financial data both safer and more convenient for users.

The partnership strengthened the long-standing collaboration between both companies and enabled deeper integration between banking and accounting, making financial administration easier for entrepreneurs.
For the tenth year in a row, Informer receives the MKB Proof Award, recognizing the platform’s reliability and continued trust among SMEs in the Dutch market.
